A knitblogger named Deb stopped by the shop while visiting her parents for Thanksgiving, and - as tends to happen here - we got to chatting, and have continued to chat via Ravelry. Deb works in the publishing biz and just sent me something special from California - an advance copy of a book about a charming and independent lamb called Woolbur.
This is a really cute book for children, especially independent-minded kids who have some connection to the fiber crafts. The pictures are fun, and the message of the story is universal and heartwarming. The final version will be coming out in a few weeks, but if you'd like a sneak preview, come to the shop to see the advance copy. I guarantee it will make you smile!

Thank you so much for your kind words about the book I illustrated: WOOLBUR. I really enjoyed learning about the textile arts while doing the research. And partly because of your review, WOOLBUR was featured in Publishers Weekly, which is a really good thing, especially for a first time illustrator! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ellen, thanks for hosting Franklin...it was fun hanging out, and fun meeting and sitting with him. The 'ice tea' bottle is full of coquito, recipe on the blog. If you're not going to drink it within a few days, maybe put it in the fridge, otherwise it's fine on the windowsill. About 1/3 rum, rest coco lopez and condensed milk, with spiced water. If you search 'coquito' on my blog, it's the dec 18 post last year. thanks again! (paul? nice!)
