I can’t pull a rabbit out of a hat, but I can pull a tissue out of my mittens!
I came up with this idea while walking Loki in the woods. My
nose was dripping, and although I was well equipped with poop bags for
Loki, there were no tissues to be found in my pockets. I thought about
wiping my nose with the back of my mitten when the idea dawned on me -
my mittens needed a pocket for my tissues!
So I made a pair and jotted down details of the pattern as I knit them. When I showed Paul my prototype, he noted that the panels of the tissue pockets were too narrow, so the pocket openings were gaping. He suggested that I make wider panels, and overlap them more. “Sort of like men’s underwear.” He was right!
Love!Want!!Need!!! Perfect for recess duty with the K/1 Kids. Soon to be "Must haves for any school playground near you", and just at the right time. Thanks

I just *love* these! What a great idea! My daughter works with little kids, and these would be *perfect* for her to have to keep tissues on hand at all times -- literally!

Oh, you are a clever one, aren't you???? That is such a brilliant idea. I want to knit a pair and you know what a novice knitter I am, so I hope you make the pattern EZ.

I saw these and even got the change to try them on in your store today when I stopped in to get some needles. I love them and just can't wait for the pattern to be released. I know I'll be making quite a few pairs of these mittens. The tissue flap actually has two functions: One if obviously to hold tissues and the second is having the extra warmth the flaps will give your hands! Having the tissue pocket on a mitten is like one of those "why didn't I think of this before" moments.

..."like men's underwear"... It is nice having a guy around who can help with knitwear design. :) I'm eagerly awaiting the pattern. Will you have larger size for men's mitten? My hubby would probably like a fingerless with a tissue dispenser.

I, too, would put tissues on one, poop bags in the other. Let's just hope I remember which is which!

These are great! Is that Ultra Alpaca? ... Just checked on Ravelry, and it is. Let me know if you need any pattern layout expertise :)

Great idea, I would wear those but I might put their poop bags in one mitten and tissues in the other. (I have some of those super small bags not recycled plastic bags.) I'd love to test knit them.
