Following Alison's lead (who was following others' leads), I interviewed Paul about my knitting habit over our morning coffee.....
Me: What is your favorite thing about my knitting?
Him: Ummm. Can I get corny?
Me: Sure... But don't forget this is going on the blog.
Him: My favorite thing is that you have a passionate approach to the process.
Me: What is your least favorite thing about my knitting?
Him: You are always knitting.
Me: What is something I have knitted that you recall as being good?
Him: I think everything that I have seen that you have done is good. You are a Master Knitter, aren’t you?
Me: Well I haven’t completed all three levels but...
Him: It’s good enough for me.
Me: Do you think knitters have an expensive hobby?
Him: No.
Me: Do you have any hobbies?
Him: Yes.
Me: What are your hobbies?
Him: Photography, art, hiking, camping...which can be expensive. I’m a gear head.
Me: So, if we compared money spent on hobbies, who would win?
Him: I’d have a bigger stash.
Me: Has my knitting in public ever embarrassed you?
Him: Not at all.
Me: Do you know my favorite kind of yarn?
Him: Can you say "alpaca"?
Me: I’m not sure I actually have a favorite – I like so many. But I do like alpaca!
Him: You’re so PC.
Me: Can you name another blog?
Him: Ravelry.
Me: That’s not actually a blog.
Him: What about Melissa’s. Isn’t it *something* Toes, or something like that? What’s her handle?
Me: No it's Loose Ends and it isn’t actually a blog. It’s a Flickr page. But she used to have a blog. Apparently she was one of the first knit bloggers out there.
Me: She has great photography on her page.
Me: She sure does! So, do you mind that I want to check out yarn stores everywhere we go?
Him: Umm. No. Whatever make you happy.
Me: Do you understand the importance of a swatch?
Him: Isn’t it a sample of a yarn?
Me: But do you know why it is important?
Him: Because it takes a while to make something, so you want to make sure you are choosing the right yarn.
Me: But how does a swatch tell you that it is the right or wrong yarn?
Him: Well...depending on the pattern and thickness of the yarn…I’m guessing.
Me: It’s got to do with gauge. But you basically have the concept...
Me: Do you read the Purl Diva Shop Blog?
Him: Sometimes.
Me: Do you think the house would be cleaner if I didn't knit?
Him: Absolutely.
Me: Thanks so much for playing along. Is there anything you would like to add in closing?
Him: I think knitters are sexy.
Playing catch-up with the blog! Cool interview - love this guy!

That's hilarious. Hmm, I wonder what my husband's answers would be. May have to try, hmmm.

All the right answers, esp. the last one!

hahahaha... but do you ALWAYS knit (I'm thinking of Paul's last comment)? (well, maybe don't answer that one)

Ha! I love this interview! Great closing line... he was obviously keeping in mind that the interview was going on the blog. A hundred knitters just swooned onto their keyboards. :)

Paul did seem to be a very intelligent and astute individual when I met him (and he babys Loki).

great interview! I especially like the last line/title. You are a much better investigative journalist than I... for example, while Scott seemed sure he knows what the purpose of a swatch is, I didn't press the matter further by quizzing him. Then again, after 8 years together, I'm pretty sure he does know...

OMG!! I love him and I've never even met him. Hang on to that one!
This was a great interview. :)
